Offshore Theatre is delighted to announce a series of Master Classes for Theatre being held in Cowes in November.
The classes will be run by Chris Dickins, a Foster-based playwright and director who has been working in the performing arts and education since 1973.
His works have been performed throughout Australia and internationally and combine highly visual theatre, poetic language and humour.
He has written more than 90 plays looking at themes including violence, ageing, the “Forgotten Australians”, the plight of refugees, the Great Depression and Australia at war.
The classes will be developmental workshops for actors, directors and anyone wishing to become actively involved in theatre, in the Phillip Island region.
The classes will be held in Cowes from 10am-4pm on Saturday, November 8, and Saturday, November 22 2014. Offshore Theatre hopes to offer another couple of days of master classes, probably in February or March.
Classes are free – thanks to a grant from Bendigo Bank – but non-financial members of Offshore Theatre will need to pay $10 to cover insurance.
The classes are limited to 12 participants. Email expressions of interest email@example.com, or phone Imelda Daly, 0412 146 208, or Sara Fleisner, 0422 576 139, for more information.
The closing date for applications is Friday, October 3.
